Be selfish!

by Tom Bradbury, in Web design & development

Yes, it’s coming up to Christmas, and no, I’m not encouraging being a scrooge, but if you haven’t already been doing so, you can start thinking about yourself for once!

Websites are incredibly powerful tools for communicating with your clients and promoting your services, but the web can also be utilised in many other ways, and it’s worth focussing on these once in a while.

These days, with connectivity as it is, businesses are increasingly venturing into multi-office or remote-working scenarios, where efficient information sharing and data management is key to their success! Furthermore, while there are many software packages out there that help do this (calendar sharing in Microsoft Outlook, for example), there’s often something extra that you wish they could do, or perhaps there’s one person involved that runs different software or operating system, rendering it pointless.

Web based tools can provide a great solution, giving you the flexibility to work online wherever you are, regardless of operating system. They can also give you the power to do exactly what YOU want!

BIG is a great example, as we now have bespoke timesheet tracking, client management, file storage, and individual schedules visible online at the touch of a button (and secure passwords, for those getting paranoid!). The whole team can easily access, and manage their data online, for the rest of the team to view and use. Being purpose built, there’s also scope for much more to come in the future, as we continually share ideas, and develop new tools in our online area.

It doesn’t have to be complicated, either; it may just be a simple online database that is more easily kept up to-date or more widely accessible to a team, and it’s a start to making things run more efficiently.

So, if you sit down and think of yourself for a moment, you may find that your Business will thank you for it.
